The
Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Program
educates people about disaster preparedness for hazards
that may impact their area and trains them in basic
disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light
search and rescue, team organization, and disaster
medical operations. Using the training learned in the
classroom and during exercises, CERT members can assist
others in their neighborhood or workplace following an
event when professional responders are not immediately
available to help.
CERT
volunteers have the opportunity to receive extensive
disaster preparedness training at no charge as well as
provide a meaningful, critical volunteer role in their
community. Take a look at our Regional CERT Training
Schedule, and sign up to become a CERT Volunteer.

work in conjunction with state and federal level
agencies in responding to and recovering from major
disasters. If you are interested in serving your
community as a CERT volunteer, sign up for our CERT
training. NOTE: CERT training is standardized so if you
cannot attend a class with the program you are currently
enrolled you can "make-up" the class with an alternate
program in the Region. However, you must contact the
CERT coordinator of each program and advise of the
schedule change. Check our
Event Calendar
to see when CERT classes are being held. |
